Over the course of the Summer, it seemed as though Paul was doing well. He managed to surprise us with his ability to find his mom and the herd though they would often desert him in the pasture and he would be left to find his own way back. We had put a bell on mom to help him to hear where the herd was. She found a way to be able to walk long distances without it ringing. Everyday at the farm was a learning adventure with Paul.
We knew that Paul was a gift to us and that God might want to call him home at anytime..Today (July 31, 2014) was that day. When I went out this morning I found Paul dead in the pasture. It appears that he went peacefully. Paul is in Heaven now playing with the other alpacas that God called home too soon, he is able to see and jump around and chase them for the first time in his life.
While I will miss my baby and it will seem very strange not preparing his bottle and not leading him in from the pasture I praise God for the opportunity that He gave us. Paul certainly enriched our lives and touched many of those that came to visit him.
It’s a reminder to all of us that this is the day that God has given us. Tomorrow might not find us here. I pray that God will bless each of you this day!!
