SPINNING ALPACA FIBER:
Now, if you are a hands-on craft type person, you might want to try spinning alpaca fiber. Many spinners will spin the raw alpaca fiber directly out of the bag. If your into spinning, I've included a youtube video for your watching enjoyment. There are many more out there but I just picked this one.
KOOL-AID DYING YOUR ALPACA FIBER:
Perhaps, you really want to make a fashion statement with your alpaca fiber and you want to dye it. Until you find out if you really like dyeing, I'd suggest using kool-aid first. Yes, you read
that right kool-aid. This youtube video will give you a step-by-step process. I just love all the color combinations I can come up with. Plus, because your not using chemical dyes, its a safe and kid-friendly project that parents can do with their kids. Once you get "hooked on dyeing" you might want to step up your game like I did. I really like using Jacquard dyes now.
